HONFLEUR GALLERY
Honfleur Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the Historic Anacostia neighborhood of Washington DC. Honfleur, opened in 2007, maintains a rigorous schedule of exhibitions and programming that focuses on cutting edge contemporary exhibitions by living artists from the USA and abroad. Honfleur is dedicated and pursuant of art exhibitions that, at times, have a socially charged thematically basis often which is used as a platform for dialogue. Experimental media and installation works are welcome at Honfleur alongside more traditional art media.
A main focus for Honfleur is the Social Arts Initiative, which is a synergistic approach concurrently supporting outstanding working artists, bringing cultural opportunities to the local community and presenting projects which may not find a home in a more commercial fine arts venue. Social Arts Initiative projects may cross-pollinate between multiple artistic genres, yet Honfleur remains at heart a visual arts venue.

ARTIST REPRESENTATION
ARCH Development Corporation, through its two sister gallery’s, The Honfleur Gallery and the Gallery at Vivid Solutions represents an array of talented visual artists in varying stages of their careers with works ranging from painting & mixed media to photography.
ARCH has reached many milestones in its representation efforts. Currently, with a roster of 12 long term clients and a hand full of rotating short term artists, the heart of its representation is based on the three following goals; Sales, Exposure and Alternative Placement. Taking a literal look at the work Representation, ARCH firmly believes that it acts as “Re-presenter,” so to speak, of an individuals’ work or body of works.
Sales: Let’s face it, artists need income and so do the gallery’s that support them. ARCH is currently taking a look at these challenges in this changing economy to find new, innovative and creative ways to boost sales and financial support for its clients. For example ARCH pursues national art fairs, holds open house events for individual buyers, art consultants & designers, as well as stays current with past buyers by sending them updates on the artist(s) they purchased works from.
Exposure: Plain and simple, whether through placing a client’s artwork in an alternative location for additional exposure or acting as an artists’ primary contact, ARCH can step in to alleviate the burden of self promotion which is so often a troublesome point for the working artist.
Alternative Placement: ARCH is enthusiastic about working with its clients to find new career expanding locations to exhibit their work. Con-currently, ARCH is always keeping an eye out for upcoming opportunities. From available grants, artist residencies and calls, ARCH tries to stay abreast to what’s available and keep their clients informed!
